CrystarVision said it held the kickoff meeting for Project ARGOS on June 25 at the Medical Device Comprehensive Support Center of the Wonju Medical Device Industry Promotion Foundation, launching the field deployment and demonstration of an AI-based model for managing chronic eye disease. WALK101 is taking part in the project as a member of the consortium. The project is part of AX-Sprint, the AI Application Product Rapid Commercialization Support Program overseen by South Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute. AX-Sprint is a national program that supports the demonstration and market entry of AI products and services the public can experience directly. It is intended to help drive the digital transformation, or AX, of healthcare, welfare and other key front-line sectors. Alongside CrystarVision, which leads the consortium, Project ARGOS brings together INFINITT Healthcare, Kangwon National University Hospital, Yeongwol Medical Center and Gangneung Medical Center of Gangwon State, Pyeongchang County Public Health and Medical Center, Seongnam Citizens Medical Center, Heuron and WALK101. Each organization will contribute in its own area, from supplying medical AI solutions and integrating medical imaging to running the clinical and regional demonstrations. WALK101, a participating company with AI technology for musculoskeletal X-rays, will contribute its medical AI solutions and image analysis capabilities to the consortium. "Project ARGOS is a demonstration project carried out with government support, bringing together the Gangwon region, partner public medical institutions and companies," said Song Su-jeong, CEO of CrystarVision. "We will work with the participating organizations to build an AI medical service model that is useful in regional care settings."
