WALK101 participated in the KIMES 2026 (the 41st Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show) 'INSPIRE Special Exhibition' held at COEX, Seoul from March 19th to 22nd. WALK101 is a medical AI startup founded in 2023 with the goal of solving inefficiencies experienced in clinical practice by CEO Dong-sik Chae, a former orthopedic specialist at a university hospital. The company supplies the medical industry with an AI solution that automatically converts various measurements that doctors had to manually measure after taking an X-ray into data. In particular, it has significantly strengthened the reliability of its reading model by collecting learning data on all parts of the musculoskeletal system from actual university hospital clinical sites. In this exhibition, WALK101 introduced its core solution, 'GMSM (General MusculoSkeletal Model)'. This is a solution in which AI analyzes X-ray images in real-time, automatically calculates biomarkers such as angles and lengths on the observed musculoskeletal structure, and even writes a reading report. This provides an environment where medical staff can focus more on consulting with patients. GMSM measures more than 20 musculoskeletal areas of the entire body, including the neck, shoulders, waist, and knees, and was trained based on high-quality clinical data that university hospital specialists directly inspected and used in actual treatment. The company explains that by assisting with image reading, it can reduce the risk of misdiagnosis while simplifying the administrative procedures for billing reading fees. Using its domestic market settlement as a stepping stone, WALK101 is going through the procedures to enter the global market. Following the establishment of a US branch, it is preparing to obtain FDA approval, and is also promoting the preemption of the Southeast Asian market by establishing a Vietnamese branch and signing MOUs with 9 local university hospitals. An official from WALK101 said, "If we focused on licensing and product advancement until last year, we will start full-scale market expansion starting with KIMES this year," and added, "Through AI technology that reduces the burden of image reading work, we will build an infrastructure where medical staff around the world can treat patients more accurately and efficiently."
